Chad: young people distribute food to hospital patients in Mao
On August 1, 2025, the Association des Jeunes Engagés pour le Développement du Kanem (AJED-K) organized a solidarity distribution of food kits for patients hospitalized at the Mao provincial hospital. This humanitarian initiative, consisting mainly of basic necessities such as rice and spaghetti, reflects the civic commitment of the young people of Kanem to improving the living conditions of vulnerable people in health facilities.
Through this action, AJED-K aims to provide concrete support to patients whose hospital stay is often marked by difficulties, particularly when it comes to food. For many patients, particularly those from rural areas or with limited resources, access to adequate food during hospitalization is a daily challenge. By providing this food, the association helps not only to alleviate physical suffering, but also to restore hope and dignity to the beneficiaries.
The ceremony took place in an atmosphere of solidarity and respect. It was attended by AJED-K vice-president Ali Meinta Moustapha, surrounded by several active members of the association, as well as the deputy director of the Mao provincial hospital, Moussa Moustapha.hospital provincial de Mao, Moussa Adoum Gadji, who praised this gesture of generosity and the involvement of young people in promoting community well-being.
The donation is part of AJED-K's ongoing efforts to combat social and health inequalities in Kanem province. The association also carries out awareness campaigns, environmental actions and civic training aimed at strengthening the social fabric and encouraging the emergence of responsible, supportive and committed youth.
