This Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Ouagadougou was held the workshop to officially launch the activities of the Moringa and natural ingredients project in Burkina Faso. The main objective of this workshop is to facilitate the adhesion and involvement of local and international partners for the success of the project. The workshop will include informative presentations, plenary discussions and online interventions by the project team and international experts. A total of 37 participants representing companies, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions, etc. took part in the workshop.

The moringa sector in Africa, and particularly in Burkina Faso, is promising for the companies involved in its exploitation and the contribution of this plant in terms of nutrients is of interest to many. Thus, to facilitate the adhesion and involvement of local and international partners for the success of the project, in addition to the seven companies involved in the project and involved in the production and processing of moringa, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions, producers, etc.. The choice of these companies was not made randomly. "We made an online call for projects. Then we held an information workshop so that all the actors in Burkina Faso were informed of the existence of the project and the companies subscribed. After cleaning up the various documents, the companies with the best potential were selected. Today, seven companies are in our pack line and we must first work to strengthen their capacities so that they can send products according to the conditions of the European market," said Jean Bosco. Jean Bosco Dibouloni, General Manager of Agrodev, and focal point of the Moringa Natural Ingredient Program in Burkina Faso, said.
Seven activities were on the program, including a presentation of the project and the nutritional values of moringa, obstacles to the export of certified products, pitches of selected companies and finally a tasting session of moringa-based products.

As for the benefits of consuming moringa, "it can be eaten raw, made into many traditional dishes, taken as a powder or even its fruits. Moringa oil is also pleasant, whether for food or cosmetics. As for the dosage, it is good to take it regularly. The dosage depends on your taste. But I will say that it is more of a condiment. Consumed raw, it is much richer and none of its components are destroyed, "recommended Philippe Arnold, manager of the Green Diamond, also passionate about moringa.

For the participants of this workshop, the various communications have enabled them to strengthen their knowledge on their product of trade that is moringa. "We are in a good position for the national market. In terms of quality, we are in the dynamic. We now need to produce in large quantities to meet the needs of the market. Our expectation is that we obtain in fine sub-regional and international markets," said Fati Chantal Songzabré.
