Within the framework of the Cameroon Decentralization and Local Development Support Facility project, these decentralization actors are conducting a 5-day economic mission to the Port of Tangier-Med, among others.

Busy agenda for the presidents of the regional councils of Cameroon. 10 in total, they have been on a working visit to Morocco since November 21, 2022. An extension of the Faddel project financed by Minddevel in partnership with Expertise France of the Afd Group, this visit will also allow the Cameroonian delegation to visit, among other places, the Fez-Meknes and Tangiers regions. It is also planned to discover the port of Tangier-Med, a visit to the Association of Regions of Morocco (Arm) and the Municipal Equipment Fund (Fec) is planned in the program.

In Cameroon, the Faddel project is financed to the tune of 446.02 billion CFA francs. Launched on March 25, 2021, it will run for 18 months for the benefit of the Regions of Cameroon. The Decentralization and Local Development Support Facility aims to support the establishment of regional councils in Cameroon, through the mobilization of French and Cameroonian expertise on priority regionalization projects: regional development planning, local civil service, financial autonomy of decentralized territorial authorities (CTD) etc....

In agreement with the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Development, and following an exploratory mission at the beginning of the project, the project activities are structured around five main areas of intervention: Support for the establishment of the regions, Optimization of the management of the Ctd's human resources, Support for the financial empowerment of the Ctd's, Structuring of the solidarity mechanism Preparation of a potential intervention on decentralization within the framework of the C2D (Debt Reduction and Development Contract).

The project consists of methodological support for the formulation of regional development plans for the ten regional councils and multi-year budget frameworks. It will allow the organization of a training session for the teams targeted by the regional councils (the referent elected official and the secretary general).
