Unemployment benefit in Algeria: a new condition in sight

The conditions of the unemployment benefit have already been known to the applicants since March 2022. At present, thousands of registrants receive this allocation every month and their job applications are processed daily to keep them in effective employability.

Indeed, the Director General of the National Employment Agency (ANEM), Abdelkader Djaber has already stated in an interview, that more than 500.000 first-time job seekers, including 63% of women, were concerned so far by the allowance, and have received since April their contributions in the short term, to note that each person aged between 19 and 40 years, is entitled to the allowance. Note that each person aged between 19 and 40 years, can take advantage of this allowance provided that it is without and especially in search of employment, in order to reduce the unemployment rate in Algeria. However, this option remains permanent until the beneficiary obtains a job from his agency in the public or private sector.

A new condition in sight:

Applicants for unemployment benefits will now have to go through a new special condition that will be a training for the benefit of the latter, in order to prepare them for the professional world in case agencies contact them for employment. This was stated by the Ministries of Labor, Social Security and Vocational Training on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Many devices aim to provide this training to different categories of recipients so that they can improve their employabilityThe training will be based on human skills and will be provided to the beneficiaries in order to improve their employability, in case they will be recruited in the near future by the agencies, by acquiring the necessary skills to start in the world of work. The training will be based on human, educational and material skills, especially in the skills that are lacking in the labor market.

According to our sources, a ministerial note indicates that the level 1 training that will qualify the apprentices will take place face-to-face for three to six months, it will also be supervised by a teacher of vocational training with the use of the latest educational and digital tools.
