France/La Châtaigneraie. Gift vouchers for tourists

The tourist office of the Pays de la Châtaigneraie organizes, every summer, a Sunday reception for tourists. It is an opportunity, around a tasting of local products, to present the territory, the upcoming events, services and shops.

"The main aim of this friendly event is to promote the Châtaigneraie region in order to encourage tourists to increase their consumption of local products and services," explains Denis Giacomazzi, president of the public administrative service (SPA) that runs the office.

This year, the elected community representatives have decided to add a gift voucher operation. "It is a prepaid voucher of 20 €, one per family, which can be used in one of the establishments of the territory offering catering: traditional restaurants, pizzerias, cafeterias, fast food restaurants, tea rooms..."

This operation of gift vouchers intended for tourists aims to support the local economy and more particularly the catering trades impacted by the health crisis, but also to encourage tourists to consume locally and discover the local gastronomy.
