Pupils from the Lycée Guéhenno in Fougères organised collections for the Restos. They are also preparing a charity meal for the beneficiaries.

The twelve students of the CAP APR (Multipurpose Catering Agent) class of the Guéhenno high school in Fougères have chosen to set up a partnership project with the Restos du cœur to create their joint masterpiece.

Collections

After contacting Marcel Métivier, head of the Restos à Fougères, the students launched a first collection of baby products and hygiene products at the vocational school at the end of November.

A second collection, extended to the general high school and also including food, is underway.

Donations will be deposited at the Restos very soon. "We will take advantage of this opportunity to visit the premises," explains Véronique Caillère, professor of biotechnology, health and the environment, project coordinator, and Fanny Danard, a teacher and librarian who is monitoring the masterpiece.

Charitable meal offered to the beneficiaries

And that's not all: a charity meal on the theme of the sea will be offered on May 31 to several beneficiaries of the Restos.

The students, who will be in charge of the project from A to Z, will have to determine the number of guests, decide on the menu, decorate and serve.

For the moment, the company is looking for partners to obtain donations of fresh produce or financial contributions in order to move the project forward. "We will first solicit short circuit companies but we do not exclude the use of shopping centres if necessary. The students are actors in the end-to-end process in order to work on autonomy and initiative taking" explains Véronique Caillère, who hopes that this meal will also be a convivial moment for the participants.
