Cities and towns across the country can now use digital solutions focused on the local economy, sustainability and mobility, which are brought together on an online urban platform called Fairville. The platform is a joint venture between Bank Belfius and the Flemish companies Cipal Schaubroeck and Nuhma, all three equally owned.

The three partners will bring together four existing activities promoting local cohesion: Our City App (a mobile application to communicate with the inhabitants of a municipality), Cirklo (a digital gift voucher), MyWaste (an application that gives a view of its waste production) and Buck-e (a system that rewards young people who go to school on foot or by bike).

Through this initiative, companies believe they can accelerate the digitisation of towns and cities.

These digital solutions will aim to inform citizens, but also to motivate them to contribute, without great effort, to a sustainable and economically locally anchored community. They have moreover recently been selected as the best choice for local authorities in a framework contract aimed at providing positive incentives and boosting the local economy, Belfius, Cipal Schaubroeck and Nuhma stress.

In the coming weeks, the three companies will transition to the new organisation, which will employ 14 people.
