Benin/Construction of the Francophone Tennis Academy in Benin: Daniel CHAUSSE received by President TALON

The project of building a Francophone Tennis Academy in Benin was at the heart of the exchanges between the President of the Republic, Mr Patrice TALON and Daniel CHAUSSE, President of the Association of Francophone Tennis Federations and Vice-President of the French Tennis Federation. It was during a hearing which took place on Thursday 21st January 2021 at the Palais de la Marina.

On a working visit to Benin since Wednesday 20 January 2021, Mr Daniel CHAUSSE accompanied by Alain DOLIUM, Partner of Technology For Humanity, London Investment Fund and Jean-Frédéric PIANELLI, Managing Director ofCommunication Agency SAMARCARDE SARL, Expert Consultant was introduced to the Head of State's office by the Minister of Sports, Mr Oswald HOMEKY and the President of the Beninese Tennis Federation, Mr Jean-Claude TALON.

At the end of the audience, Daniel CHAUSSE first thanked the Head of State for his availability and his listening before saying how important it was for him to come and explain to him in person the importance of the project.volution of the exchanges between his Institution and Benin for the effective start of this project of construction of the Francophone Tennis Academy in the seaside town of Avlékété in the commune of Ouidah.

<< We believe that tennis has an important place. And to launch this sport, we need to interest young people in a perspective of creating champions who will be in a way locomotives. We also have the interest to develop this sport for the whole population. This is what we have suggested to the President of the Republic to put himself in a position to achieve this objective with means such as the creation of the Tennis Academy which will be a place to practice tennis for leisure but which will also be a place of training for young elite>> declared Mr CHAUSSE.

For his part, Minister Oswald HOMEKY said that Benin has already made available the domain that will house the Academy and that the project is immediately taken care of by the government for its quick start.

It should be recalled that the idea of creating this academy which was born during the 2017 edition of the tennis competition at Roland Garros is to ensure that tennis takes an important place in the world of sports in Benin. And the President of the Beninese Tennis Federation, Mr. Jean-Claude TALON has also worked hard alongside the Minister of Sports to make this project a reality.
