France/In the Jura, Nostang and Bois-d'Amont meet for their annual twinning
From August 2 to 10, 2024, 38 Nostangais will be hosted by Bois-d'Amoniers, in the Jura region. Every other year, the Bretons celebrate the twinning between their two communes in the Jura. The program includes visits to sites such as the Risoux mines and the Fort des Rousses ripening cellars, as well as a picnic in Switzerland's Vallée de Joux and evening get-togethers based on local produce.
1,400 km by bike
Last year, one of the Bois-d'Amont committee members cycled to Nostang. This year, Serge Lucas, from Nostang, started the return journey to Morbihan. "I take the voie bleue west of Dole. The banks of the Doubs are very nice. My bike and luggage weigh 30 kg. The route I've chosen is 1,400 km long, and I'm aiming for 100 km a day. If there's a westerly wind, it's going to be complicated. At the start, I had a support committee. I didn't know about it. I wanted to set off discreetly, but I guess I missed out", jokes the cyclist.
