A training workshop for teachers was held this Friday, July 14, 2023 at the ADETIC in Mongo, in the presence of the provincial delegate for gender and national solidarity, Abdelaziz Alhadj Damaliya, as well as national departmental inspectors, head teachers and numerous lecturers from the Guéra and Abtouyour departments.

The aim of this training is to help reduce violence against children in the school environment. 25 teachers were trained to identify cases of domestic violence. They were equipped with knowledge on child protection, the referral process and the referral of victims to social services to ensure appropriate care. Emphasis was also placed on promoting a culture of peace and peaceful cohabitation among students.

This new strategy aims to encourage members of these clubs to exchange and debate with their colleagues on the consequences of female genital mutilation, child marriage and other forms of violence against women.child marriage, the fight against violence against children, and the importance of keeping children in school. Actions are also linked to the fight against violence, in conjunction with the social centers of Mongo, Abtouyour, Melfi and Mangalmé.

However, these activities, which will mainly take place in schools, will also involve teachers. This is why the delegation has taken steps to build the capacity of twenty-five teachers from the Abtouyour and Guéra departments in child protection, focusing on identifying cases of domestic violence and referring them to social services for a multi-sectoral response.

The workshop will be held from July 14 to 15, 2023 at Adetic in Mongo.
