Martinique/EDF and Entreprises & Environnement join forces for the Péyi Vert program

EDF in Martinique has signed a partnership agreement as part of the Péyi Vert program initiated by the Entreprises & Environnement association. The program aims at planting one million trees in the territory.

EDF in Martinique continues to show its ecological support with this latest action. A partnership agreement was signed this Wednesday, November 16, between EDF and the Entreprises & Environnement association around the Péyi Vert program, at EDF headquarters in Martinique. This action is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach of the major actor of the energy transition. The latter will finance the Péyi Vert program for four years, supported by the Entreprises & Environnement association, with the aim of "planting a million trees over five years on a surface area of 1,000 hectares spread across the island in coastal areas and in the south of the country.The aim is to plant one million trees over a period of five years on a surface area of 1,000 hectares spread across the island, in degraded coastal areas such as mangrove swamps, coastal forests and beachfronts, and thus recreate a natural barrier against coastal erosion and climatic hazards". Several operations will be launched in this framework from January 2023.
