Benin/Promotion of women's leadership at the local level: ANCB presents the content of the PMI-FPL project to the elected officials and technical staff of the Dassa-Zoumè town hall

To enable the actors of the beneficiary communes of the Municipal Partnerships for Women's Innovation in Local Politics (PMI-FPL) project to develop a common understanding of the objectives, key concepts, methodology as well as their role and responsibility in the implementation of the project; such is the objective pursued by the National Association of Communes of Benin (ANCB), by organizing a sensitization and information tour in the five beneficiary communes of the project.

After the Adjarra town hall a few weeks ago, it was the turn of the Dassa-Zoumè town hall to receive, this Tuesday, August 9, 2022, the delegation led by the Executive Director of ANCB, Sègla LIHOUSSOU.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Mayors, the Head of the Central District, the Chairmen of the Permanent Commissions, the executives occupying the seven main administrative and technical functions and the gender focal point of the commune.

On behalf of the Mayor, the President of the Permanent Commission in charge of State and Environmental Affairs, Brice IDJIWA, thanked ANCB and its partners for the opportunity offered to the Mayor of D'Ivoire.opportunity offered to the Dassa-Zoumè City Hall to benefit from the support of the PMI-FPL project in order to improve its performance in promoting women's leadership.

The PMI-FPL Project is implemented in Benin by the ANCB in collaboration with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and with the financial support of the Canadian government through Global Affairs Canada. It aims to improve the enjoyment of women's and girls' rights, particularly those of marginalized groups, in Benin, Cambodia, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Zambia. Concretely, it is about promoting women's political and technical leadership at the local level and improving the quality of services delivered to the population at the grassroots.
