At the end of two dreary years the twinning committee is committed to new projects. With an intensification of projects and exchanges.

The last quarter of the year is on the horizon as is the opportunity to plan projects for 2023. But before that, the various representatives of the twin cities will be present from August 10 to 15. Various working meetings will take place at the Pôle Nautique, explains Yolande Capitaine, secretary of the twinning committee. These visits echo the one of the Concarnois, at the end of June, in Penzance, during the 40th anniversary of the twinning. The project, in relation with Senne-Bielefeld, which should take place in spring 2023 on the basis of a reception at the youth hostel will certainly be mentioned.

A vacation project in the mountains

The return of the 50th anniversary of the twinning with the German city will take place during the friendship trip in June 2023. A trip to Golowan is proposed for June 2023 as well as youth exchanges with Penzance in the spring. Musical groups and choirs from Penzance would like to show their presence during the 2023 Blue Nets, announces Yolande Capitaine.

In order to remobilize the young people, sports exchanges are planned. Contacts have been made with the gymnastics, handball and soccer clubs of Concarneau to participate in a tournament. A U9-U17 soccer tournament is also being studied with Combloux, explains Yolande Capitaine. The Combloux walking club Les Loups Joyeux will also exchange with the Grand Large walking section. A snow vacation project in Combloux at the beginning of 2023 is on the agenda.

Discovering German Christmas markets

In the meantime, a barter and flea market is planned for September 11, the day after the associations' forum, during which the public will be able to learn about the scope of the association's projects. The commitment to the environment could take its first steps during a meeting with an association involved in this field during the forum to possibly link Concarneau and Senne around a common project. This would be an opportunity to attract new members.

Especially since the end of the year will be dedicated to the discovery of German Christmas markets during a five-day stay in Senne-Bielefeld from November 24 to 30. Even if the time is long gone when we left Concarneau with two buses and pancake makers," observes Michel Le Bourhis, the president, who also intends to continue the actions in the direction of M'Bour as part of a humanitarian mission. The renovation of the José Jeannès school is supported by the twinning, he confides.
