Cameroon/Adamaoua: 1.4 billion CFA francs to open up production basins

According to the Ministry of Public Works, this action will involve the coverage of a linear of 168.50 kilometers, to facilitate the producers, the routing of their goods in the outlets.

During the year 2022, the Road Fund, the secular arm of the Cameroonian State in terms of protection of the national road heritage, intends to put an envelope of 1.4 billion F in the maintenance projects of the communal road network of the Adamaoua region. According to the Ministry of Public Works, this action, which aims to open up the production basins, will cover a total length of 168.5 kilometers. Specifically, the work will involve the maintenance of 7 communal roads and the construction of 5 engineering structures spread over the 5 departments of the region. In the Vina department, six projects are planned, including the construction of a dalot on the Mayo-Beka river in the commune of Ngaoundere I and a bridge over the Tibang river in the commune of Mbe. Maintenance projects are also planned, namely the completion of the first phase of the Gada-Socatole section, 10 km long in the commune of Ngaoundere III; maintenance of the Massakbatt-Boutou-Nganha road, 17 km long, in the Commune of Nganha and work on the Selal Nyassey-Ngangui-Ngam-Djohong road, 41 km long, in the Commune of Belel.

In the department of Mayo Banyo, there are plans to build a permanent bridge over the Mayo Dembesse River, which is located on the Banyo-Boudjounkoura section in the arrondissement of Banyo. In the department of Djerem, the Commune of Ngaoundal will benefit from the construction of a permanent bridge over the Mayo Mbong River in the Commune of Ngaoundal. As for the Mbéré department, the commune of Dir will benefit from the maintenance of the road linking the localities of Sim and Djerem Karaway, 30.50 km long, including the rehabilitation of a bridge over the Gomteser River. The Nabemo-Dare Mboula road section, 10 km long, will be rehabilitated in the commune of Djohong. As for the department of Faro and Deo, two projects are planned for the construction of a reinforced concrete bridge over the Mayo-Tagouri, on the Galim-Tignère at Wogomdou in the commune of Galim-Tignère and the maintenance of the communal road at the crossroads between Kodjoli-Kolou and the Faro border towards Poli in the district of Kontcha.

It should be noted that according to the Ministry of Public Works, some of these projects have already been launched. Once completed, these infrastructures will improve the living conditions of the population by opening up the agricultural and cattle production basins and making the transport of goods and people in the Adamaoua region more fluid. In accordance with the gradual implementation of decentralization in the country, some communes are in charge of the projects.
