Morocco/Agadir urban development plan: More than 5 billion dirhams committed by the end of 2022

The year 2021 saw the completion of work on several projects under the Urban Development Program (UDP) of Agadir (2020-2024) for an overall investment of more than 282 million dirhams, or 4.5% of the overall cost of the Program.

These projects represent a total cost of 643 million dhs, i.e. 10% of the overall cost of the UDP, of which 09 have already been approved for a total cost of 410 million dhs.

The total number of projects underway or for which tenders have been launched or approved is 59, at a cost of MAD 5,146 million (82% of the total cost of the UDP). There are 33 projects whose studies are at a very advanced stage, with a total cost of more than MAD 1.66 billion (17% of the total cost of the UDP).

The total amount of commitments contracted by the various delegated contracting authorities during these two years of the PDU amounts to more than 2,960 million dhs, i.e. 47% of the overall cost of the program.

At the end of the year 2022, the total commitments of the program should amount to 5 billion 683 million dhs, or 90% of the overall cost of the Program.

King Mohammed VI on February 04, 2020, during His visit to the Souss-Massa Region.
