Benin/Achieving the 2030 Development Goals: Sustainable development and social responsibility at the heart of a workshop in Cotonou

The municipality of Cotonou, in collaboration with the city of La Rochelle in France, is organizing from December 6 to 10, 2021 at Infosec, a training seminar for executives, elected officials and leaders of the city hall.

"Sustainable Development of Territories and Societal Responsibility: Challenges and Prospects" is the theme of this work officially launched by the Mayor of Cotonou, Luc Sètondji Atrokpo, in the presence of Professor Daniel Périn and Clément Xavier François. These exchanges are part of the vision of the authority which is to put in place an efficient administration at the service of the populations of Cotonou. The objective of this seminar is to enable participants to better understand the issues of sustainable development and social responsibility which are an important dimension in the strategic plan "Cotonou, Tomorrow 2020-2026". During the five days of work, the participants will have to exchange on the means to reach the development objectives by 2030 and the responsibility of the city in the achievement of these objectives. It will also enable them to form a plan and implement sustainable development and social responsibility strategies within the Municipality and the improvement of the performance of the city of Cotonou in the areas of biodiversity preservation, the fight against climate change and others. The Belgian Ambassador to Benin, President of the group of French-speaking African Ambassadors in Cotonou, Xavier Le Blanc, welcomed this initiative of the Mayor of Cotonou, Luc Sètondji Atrokpo, which will improve the performance of the municipal administration. On behalf of the City Council of Cotonou, the Mayor expressed his sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the city of La Rochelle in France for its support in organizing this meeting.
