The deliberation room of the Banikoara town hall was the setting this Friday, October 15, 2021, for the official launching ceremony of the activities of the project to support the improvement of women's incomes in the shea butter sector in the departments of Alibori and Atacora (Pareffika). It was under the aegis of the mayor of the town and in the presence of the first person in charge of the NGO Afva, the director of the regional coordination of the NGO Brücke Le pont, the project leaders and some actors of the shea butter sector.

According to Lazare Yombi, director of the regional coordination of the NGO "Brücke Le pont", the Pareffika project is proposed by the non-governmental organization Afva (association of active women) based in Banikoara. by the non-governmental organization Afva (association of active women) based in the town of Banikoara and whose first leader is Elise Tama. The project lasts for three years and brings hope on the economic, social and environmental levels. It will contribute to the improvement of the incomes of women shea processors with an impact on the local economy, the consolidation of social cohesion in households by reducing poverty and the non-destruction of the shea tree thus contributing to the protection of the environment.
According to the director of the regional coordination of the NGO "Brücke Le pont", the implementation of Pareffika requires an inclusive approach. The real involvement of the town hall is highly desired. That is why, in his speech, Mayor Bio Sarako Tamou did not miss the opportunity to reiterate to the partner the full availability of the local council to accompany the actions of the NGO "Brücke Le pont". The local authority believes that "Pareffika is an important project for the commune of Banikoara. It is a sustainable development project. It is a project that we must accompany. "To conclude, the mayor thanked the partner and all the actors who worked for the birth of the project.

It should be noted that the Pareffika project is being implemented in the communes of Banikoara, Kandi, Gogounou and Kérou for a period of three years. The facilitators received rolling stock on the occasion of the official launch of the project's activities.
