France/Culture, conviviality and emotion return to Angers with the Austin Days

Austin, the American megalopolis, is coming to Angers for a few days, with the Austin days from September 24th to October 1st 2021. This year is quite special for these two cities as they celebrate their 10 years of twinning!

This year 2021 is important for the city of Angers because it has been twinned with the 14th city of the United States for 10 years: Austin. The health constraints did not allow the realization of cultural, sports and convivial events last year, the team in charge of the organization of international events has given everything to make it happen again quickly. And what better way to do so than with Austin days.

Austin days, as the name suggests, are days dedicated to the city of Austin. This concept also exists on the other side with the Angers Days in Austin which will be held, normally, in 2023. This week of integration of American culture in our city in the west of France, concentrates several interesting and diverse activities, with a very busy program.

To begin with, there will be the American singer Mama Duke, nominated in 2019 for the Austin Hip-Hop awards, who, for her first time in France, will come to Angers! Three concerts, free of charge, in different places of the city where she will make us discover a bit of hip-hop culture and where she will make her international debut.

This year art will not be left aside, because there will be in addition, Mila Sketch, a street artist who will leave us a piece of texas in Angers, rue Larevellière. Her work will be entitled, "Angers Vibe", an invitation to discover a district in urban redevelopment.

Of course, American gastronomy, American sports such as basketball, American football and cinema will also be highlighted during these Austin days.
