ANCB starts training women and girls beneficiaries in Glazoué.

The project to promote the local economy through the development of income-generating activities (IGA) initiated by the National Association of Beninese Communes (ANCB) and financed by the International Organization of the Francophonie (IOF) is now in its active phase. This, through the effective start of the training of women and girls beneficiaries of the project, in the processing and manufacture of food products and cosmetics. It is the town of Glazoué in the department of Collines which opened this Wednesday, April 14, 2021, the ball of these training cycles intended to give the beneficiaries the technical knowledge necessary to manufacture the selected products but also basic elements essential in management.

A total of four products identified during the baseline study among the beneficiaries are concerned. These are "Akoto" soap, "Kongui" soap, soy cheese and "Hayavi" porridge. For the first day, which took place in a festive atmosphere, three processing workshops were started, namely: the "Akoto" soap manufacturing workshop, the "Kongui" manufacturing workshop, the "Hayavi" porridge manufacturing workshop.
In her brief message at the opening of the training, the person in charge of Local Economic Development of ANCB Georgette DJENONTIN BADA recalled the importance of the promotion of the local economy in the eyes of the president of ANCB Luc Sètondji ATROKPO. His speech gave way to the presentation of the project by Xavier MOUZOUN in his capacity as Project Manager.
The beneficiaries all appreciated the merits of the initiative and confirmed their support. They did not fail to thank the International Organization of the Francophonie (IOF) and the ANCB for this important support which will take them out of the vicious circle of poverty and the extreme conditions of precariousness in which they live.
After the beneficiaries of Glazoué, it is the beneficiaries of the communes of Zè and Aplahoué, who will receive practical training on agro-food and cosmetic products selected as a priority in their area.
