On Monday November 24, the vine donated by the Mayor of Kitzingen, Stefan Güntner, was planted in the garden of the Maison des Eaux.

From September 17 to 22, a delegation from the Prades Kitzingen twinning committee, led by its president Maxime Ferrer, travelled to Bavaria to celebrate 40 years of friendship between the two towns. The program included all the highlights of a lively twinning: a visit to the pretty medieval town of Iphofen and its Knauf museum, a tour of the House of Youth and Family, a stroll along the banks of the Main, an introduction to rowing evening with a Polish delegation and the inauguration of the renovated Sickergrund sports center.

The highlight of the stay was the official 40th jubilee evening in the former synagogue of Kitzingen, with a concert by the music school, speeches, gift exchanges... and above all a powerful reminder: these twinnings were born after the war to build peace, not in grand speeches, but in encounters between citizens.

A symbolic vine

To mark the occasion, the Mayor of Kitzingen, Stefan Güntner, presented Maxime Ferrer with a symbolic vine, the image of a bond that takes root, grows and bears fruit. On Monday November 24, the vine was planted in the garden of the Maison des Eaux by the Mayor of Prades, Yves Delcor, surrounded by members of the twinning committee. "A good deed that reinforces this twinning. In these complicated times, a reminder of solidarity is important", says Yves Delcor, delighted to see this symbol taking root in the heart of the town.
